Search Continues for K2 Airways Cargo Aircraft

K2 Airways has announced that contact was lost with its Boeing 737-400 cargo aircraft, registered AP-BOI, while operating a Sharjah–Karachi flight at 21:21 Pakistan local time on July 7.

According to the airline, five crew members were on board: Captain Mohammad Rizwan Idrees, First Officer Faisal Mehmood, loadmaster Muhammad Toufique Khan, and engineers Arif Siddiqui and Mohammad Hamid.

K2 Airways said it is working in coordination with Pakistani authorities and supporting the search and rescue operations launched after contact with the aircraft was lost.

Based on data indicating a rapid loss of altitude over the Arabian Sea, the aircraft is believed to have possibly crashed into the sea.
